Exiles were stunned this evening to find out that league rivals Fairwater Social 2nds have withdrawn from the Cardiff Combination League.
A fellow Division One side, whom Exiles had previously beaten 12-2 in a record win, will now have that result declared null and void as Fairwater’s records will be expunged from the league table.
Exiles will remain in the same league position, 5th, as all of their rivals had also previously beaten the side but most affected will be Cathays United, whose only two wins will now no longer count and they are now in 7th and last place. It will however have a detrimental affect on the club’s goal difference, going from +10 to 0. Whether this will have an effect at the end of the season, it is yet to be seen.
Will Eastwood will will also feel harshly done by, with 5 of his 21 goals chalked off, but Dan Poole, Tomos Davies, Rory Wigmore also lose two each and Pete Nicol one.
